AfDB Annual Meetings End in Brazzaville with Strong Commitment to Africa’s Transformation
The 61st African Development Bank Group (AfDB) Annual Meetings concluded in Brazzaville on 29 May, carrying a strong message of optimism, partnership, and transformation for the African continent.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, AfDB Group President Dr. Sidi Ould Tah expressed his gratitude to the government and people of the Republic of the Congo for their “fraternal welcome” and the “exceptional quality” of the organization of the meetings.
He also announced that Angola has pledged its contribution to the replenishment of the African Development Fund (ADF-17), increasing the number of African contributing countries to 25.
Dr. Ould Tah reaffirmed the Bank’s ambition to become “the solution bank for the Africa we want,” emphasizing a renewed focus on innovation, inclusivity, and proximity to African populations.
He further highlighted that youth employment and women’s empowerment will remain at the heart of the Bank’s priorities as it continues to strengthen its impact across the continent.
