BAD Portfolio in Côte d’Ivoire: Ministry of Planning and Development launches the first quarterly review of 2026
On April 9 and 10, 2026, in Abidjan, the Ministry of Planning and Development launched the first quarterly review of 2026 for the portfolio of projects and programs financed by the African Development Bank in Côte d’Ivoire. The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor Loesse Jacques ESSO, Chief of Staff, representing the Minister of Planning and Development, Dr. Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA.
As of the end of March 2026, the active AfDB portfolio in Côte d’Ivoire included 44 operations with a total volume of 2.910 billion Units of Account, equivalent to approximately 4 billion USD. The rate of projects considered at risk fell below the institutional threshold, reaching around 10% in December 2025, reflecting a significant improvement in portfolio performance.
“Our cooperation is strong and strategic. Beyond infrastructure, the financed projects create jobs, expand access to education, and concretely improve the living conditions of Ivorian populations,” said Professor Loesse Jacques ESSO, Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Planning and Development.
This quarterly review mechanism demonstrates the rigor with which the Ministry of Planning and Development monitors and evaluates the implementation of projects financed by its technical and financial partners, within a performance-driven management approach.
