Côte d’Ivoire – Algeria Strategic Partnership in Energy and Hydrocarbons

The Ivorian Minister of Mines, Petroleum, and Energy, Mamadou Sangafowa Coulibaly, is on an official visit to Algiers to strengthen cooperation with Algeria in the hydrocarbons and energy sectors.

During this visit, a structuring cooperation agreement was signed between the two countries. According to official sources, this partnership aims to support the development of Côte d’Ivoire’s energy sector across the entire value chain, from resource exploration and extraction to processing, distribution, and expert training.

The Ivorian minister emphasized that this strategic partnership will allow Côte d’Ivoire to accelerate its energy transformation while enhancing its industrial growth. Algerian authorities confirmed their commitment to provide technical and logistical support, particularly in refining and the supply of petroleum products.

This cooperation is part of broader South-South relations, aimed at promoting economic and technological exchanges among developing countries. The planned projects will still require detailed planning and regular monitoring to ensure effective implementation.

Minister Sangafowa Coulibaly is also scheduled to meet with several Algerian officials to discuss concrete projects in the short and medium term, with the goal of creating a lasting impact on Côte d’Ivoire’s energy sector.
