Côte d’Ivoire confirme son rôle de leader économique dans l’UEMOA en 2025

In 2025, Côte d’Ivoire confirmed its position as one of the most dynamic economies within the UEMOA (West African Economic and Monetary Union). This performance continues a trend of sustained growth observed in recent years.

According to several international economic institutions, the country recorded an estimated growth rate between 6% and 7%, placing it at or above the regional average. This momentum has been driven by key sectors such as agriculture, services, and public investment, particularly in infrastructure.

Within UEMOA, Côte d’Ivoire holds a central role. It accounts for a significant share of the Union’s gross domestic product and contributes substantially to regional growth, reinforcing its status as an economic engine in West Africa.

However, challenges remain. The Ivorian economy is still exposed to fluctuations in global commodity prices, especially cocoa, of which it is the world’s leading producer. In addition, issues related to wealth distribution and employment continue to be major concerns.

In this context, the country’s economic outlook remains broadly positive, provided that ongoing reforms are sustained and efforts to diversify the economy and promote inclusive growth are strengthened.
