Côte d’Ivoire: Construction of Doropo Gold Mine to Begin by June

The company Resolute Mining has announced that construction of its Doropo gold mine in the northeast of Côte d’Ivoire will begin in the first half of 2026. The project is set to become the country’s third major gold mine, with production expected around 2028.

The Doropo project has received all necessary approvals, including the mining license, and reached the final investment decision following technical, economic, and environmental studies.

Construction will involve the development of extraction and processing infrastructure over an estimated two-year period. The total planned investment for the project is approximately 516 million dollars, with significant annual gold production expected over a period of about thirteen years.

The project is part of Côte d’Ivoire’s strategy to develop its mining sector and is expected to strengthen the country’s position as a key player in gold production in West Africa.
