Distillery of Côte d’Ivoire: A New Industrial Milestone Ahead for Somdia

Following the successful launch of its Congo distillery, commissioned in 2025 and fully operational in just three months, Somdia is continuing its industrial momentum with the upcoming commissioning of a new distillery in Côte d’Ivoire at SUCAF Côte d’Ivoire, scheduled for the coming weeks.

This strategic project is fully aligned with the Group’s commitment to adding value to sugarcane by-products and to developing high-performing and sustainable operations across its subsidiaries.

As part of this new phase, two experienced professionals are joining SUCAF Côte d’Ivoire to support the project:

Jean-François Koenig, Distillery Director, brings more than 35 years of experience in the beverages and spirits industry. He joins SUCAF Côte d’Ivoire to drive the distillery’s development and innovation strategy.

Frédéric Disson, Director of Engineering, Methods and Maintenance, is a seasoned project engineer who recently led the Congo distillery project at Saris Congo and has also managed several projects within Compagnie Sucrière du Tchad (CST) and Sosucam (Cameroon Sugar Company).

This momentum reflects the strong trust placed in internal talent and highlights the value of cross-subsidiary mobility as a key driver of success for major industrial projects.

With the Côte d’Ivoire distillery, Somdia once again demonstrates its ability to rely on its people to deliver structuring, value-creating industrial investments.
