Food Crop Production: Minister Bernard Kini Comoé Deploys Major Support Package for Producers in the Bagoué Region

The Minister Delegate to the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Crop Production, in charge of Food Crop Production, Bernard Kini Comoé, has handed over a substantial package of agricultural equipment, seeds, and farm inputs to producers in the region.

The ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Third Day of Excellence and Recognition of the Merit of Women in Bagoué and the inauguration of the presidents of the Federation of Women's Groups and Associations (FEGAF) of Boundiali municipality and sub-prefecture.

Five brand-new, fully equipped tractors were provided to local producers. The package also included two power tillers, a mini combine harvester, and a grant of 1.5 million CFA francs to cover fuel expenses.

Beyond mechanization, the government has also focused on improving agricultural productivity. Producer cooperatives in Bagoué received 40 tons of maize seeds and 20 tons of rice seeds. In addition, 150 tons of NPK fertilizer and 100 tons of urea were distributed to support the cultivation of 500 hectares of farmland across the region.

The government's commitment also directly benefited women in Bagoué. Bernard Kini Comoé provided them with agricultural inputs and technical support by facilitating their connection with the Boundiali Operational Mechanization Unit. The resources distributed will enable the cultivation of approximately 350 hectares of crops.

"As part of its pursuit of food sovereignty, the government has established a support program for agricultural producers. It is within this framework that operational mechanization units have been deployed to provide mechanized services to farmers," he explained.

The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Crop Production, Bruno Nabagné Koné, praised the initiative as being fully aligned with the government's strategy for developing the agricultural sector. He urged beneficiaries to make optimal use of the equipment and inputs provided in order to strengthen Bagoué's agricultural performance, as the region is recognized as one of the country's leading food crop production hubs.
