Ouedraogo Habibou has emerged as one of the leading figures of Ivorian women’s football, confirming her status as a key player in the new generation of the Elephantes.
She was recently crowned Best Player of the 2026 FIFA Series (Women’s tournament), a prestigious individual award that caps a flawless campaign for Côte d’Ivoire. The Elephantes won the competition with a perfect record of three wins in three matches, including a 2–0 victory over Pakistan in the final. Habibou played a decisive role throughout the tournament, further establishing her importance within the national team.
Before this international breakthrough, Habibou had already built a strong reputation at club level with ASEC Mimosas. She finished as top scorer of the Ivorian Women’s Division 1 league in back-to-back seasons, scoring 33 goals in 2024 and an impressive 39 goals in 2025.
Her performances at club level also translated onto the continental stage, where she played a key role in ASEC Mimosas’ historic run in the CAF Women’s Champions League, helping the club reach a landmark milestone for Ivorian women’s football while collecting several individual “Player of the Match” awards.
In 2025, she was also named Best Player of the UFOA B Women’s Tournament, reinforcing her consistency at regional level.
Beyond her sporting achievements, her impact has been officially recognized at national level. The Ministry of Sports awarded her the title of Knight of the Ivorian Order of Sporting Merit, during an official ceremony held in Abidjan.
Deeply moved by the honour, Habibou dedicated her achievements to her teammates, coaching staff, family, and supporters. She also reaffirmed her ambition to continue improving and to represent Côte d’Ivoire at the highest level in upcoming international competitions.
Ouedraogo Habibou now stands as one of the most promising figures in African women’s football, symbolizing talent, discipline, and consistency.
