Ivorian Politics: “Millenia,” a New Party for a Côte d’Ivoire of Renewal and Cohesion

A new political force has entered the national scene. The Millenia Party was officially introduced to the press on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Abidjan-Plateau Press House. In front of journalists and founding members, Vice President Kakou Maurice outlined the ambitions, values, and vision of this emerging party, which aims to be “a credible and responsible political alternative.”

Although created in 1993, Millenia is now fully structured for political action. Deeply rooted in republican and democratic values, the party’s main goal is “the democratic conquest, exercise, and preservation of power,” while upholding national sovereignty.

According to Kakou Maurice, Millenia represents “a platform for awakening civic participation, a space for expressing the intelligence and aspirations of youth.” The party seeks to promote true democracy, peace, social cohesion, and shared development.

Together with Executive Secretary Séhi Paul and Diaby Kouadio Timothée, he emphasized that Millenia aspires to represent all social and economic groups across Côte d’Ivoire. Its agenda centers on social justice, equity, civic engagement, and environmental protection.

Determined to be a voice for Ivorian youth — seen as the driving force for change and sustainable progress — the party aims to “spark a new dynamic toward an ecological and socially responsible environment capable of meeting today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.”

With the arrival of Millenia, Côte d’Ivoire’s political landscape gains a movement advocating for dialogue, participation, and democratic renewal as the nation approaches its next electoral milestones.
