On the eve of Côte d’Ivoire’s presidential election scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire in Canada has called on Ivorian citizens living in Canada to turn out in large numbers to fulfill their civic duty.
In an official statement released on October 24, 2025, the diplomatic mission, headed by Her Excellency Fatoumata Diabaté Ouattara, announced that polling stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Calgary, Montréal, Ottawa, Québec, and Toronto. Voters who have not yet collected their voter cards will be able to do so directly at their respective polling stations on election day.
The Embassy urged all registered Ivorian citizens to participate actively in this crucial election for the nation’s democratic future. It also emphasized the importance of maintaining calm, discipline, and respect for electoral guidelines to ensure a peaceful and credible vote.
“The Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire in Canada hopes for a strong mobilization of the Ivorian community and trusts in the civic spirit and sense of responsibility of all,” the note stated.
Through this reminder, the diplomatic mission reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the full participation of the Ivorian diaspora in the electoral process, in a spirit of unity and civic responsibility.
