Presidential Election 2025: Vincent Toh Bi Irié Announces His Candidacy
Abidjan, May 13, 2025 – Former Prefect of Abidjan, Vincent Toh Bi Irié, has officially announced his candidacy for the upcoming Ivorian presidential election, scheduled for October 2025. The announcement was made through a statement published on his official Facebook page, where he directly addressed the citizens.
“My dear Ivorians and fellow compatriots, I hereby inform you through this message that I am a candidate in the presidential election of October 2025,” he declared, in a tone that was both solemn and direct.
In his statement, the former senior civil servant justified his decision with three main reasons:
-
To offer a new perspective and a different approach to governance, capable of addressing current national and international challenges, particularly those affecting the youth;
-
To establish a renewed form of governance, making institutions more inclusive and accessible to all citizens;
-
To put an end to the cycle of political violence, which undermines stability and democracy in Côte d’Ivoire.
With this announcement, Vincent Toh Bi Irié takes a significant step in his political journey. A high-ranking official in the public administration, he became well known for his modern management style, transparent communication, and civic engagement—particularly during his notable tenure as Prefect of Abidjan from 2018 to 2020.
Now working as an international consultant, he returns to the national stage with the ambition of offering an alternative to the traditional figures of the Ivorian political landscape.
He concluded his message with a call for citizen mobilization around his vision:
“I invite you to join me in this new dynamic to build together a peaceful and prosperous nation.”
His candidacy now broadens the scope of possibilities for a presidential election that promises to be decisive for the future of the country.
