Côte d’Ivoire and France reaffirm close ties during Ouattara-Macron meeting at Élysée Palace

Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara met with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace in Paris on Tuesday, November 3, for discussions on bilateral relations and international affairs.

The two leaders held talks for nearly two hours, focusing on cooperation between Côte d’Ivoire and France, as well as several issues on the international agenda.

The meeting highlighted the close ties between Abidjan and Paris, which are built on cooperation across several areas.

The dinner between the two presidents followed Ouattara’s participation on October 30 in Geneva at a presidential conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The conference focused on Côte d’Ivoire’s experience in trade, investment and development partnerships.

The meeting at the Élysée comes as both countries continue to maintain close diplomatic and economic relations.
