Côte d'Ivoire's North-East Agropolis: Government Reaffirms Commitment to Accelerate the Project

At the closing of the validation workshop for the North-East agropolis project on February 7, 2025, in Bondoukou, the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture, Agricultural Development, and Food Production, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, reaffirmed the government's commitment to accelerating the implementation of this high socio-economic impact project.

For him, this project marks a decisive turning point for the North-East region, opening up new perspectives in terms of economic and social development. More than just a project, this initiative symbolizes the ambition of a region determined to position itself among the most dynamic agricultural zones in the country.

“With this project, we have taken the lead in terms of financing. Already, 40 billion FCFA has been signed with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). With the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the West African Development Bank (BOAD), we will go well beyond the originally planned 160 billion FCFA,” he emphasized.

It is important to note that one of the main topics discussed during this workshop was the rehabilitation of hydro-agricultural and pastoral sites. Additionally, the modernization of road infrastructure, particularly rural roads, was highlighted to ensure optimal transportation of agricultural products to both national and international markets.
