From August 18 to 29, 2025, approximately twenty Ivorian soldiers participated in a specialized Civil-Military Operations (CMO) training course at the Armed Forces Academy of Zambakro. The session was conducted by the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) and is part of Côte d’Ivoire’s national doctrine on civil-military operations.
The primary objective of the training was to develop a cadre of specialized CMO operators within the Ivorian Armed Forces (FACI), improve inter-agency coordination, and bolster the country’s ongoing efforts in the fight against terrorism.
This initiative reflects Côte d’Ivoire’s commitment to building stronger ties between the military and civilian populations. By equipping soldiers with tools for effective civil engagement, the program enhances trust, promotes cooperation, and contributes to long-term national cohesion.
Ultimately, this training is a strategic investment in both national and regional security and stability. The collaboration between AFRICOM and the Ivorian military underscores a shared commitment to peace, resilience, and sustainable development in West Africa.
