Abidjan, May 15, 2025 – The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire (CCI-Côte d’Ivoire) and the U.S.-Africa Business Center of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) reaffirmed their partnership on Wednesday, May 13, 2025, in Abidjan through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at deepening bilateral trade cooperation and supporting the growth of trade and investment between Côte d’Ivoire and the United States.
During a signing ceremony held at the first AmCham West Africa Business Summit, on the sidelines of the 12th edition of the Africa CEO Forum 2025, the two chambers expressed their shared commitment to advancing private sector-led growth, promoting innovation, and opening new business opportunities for companies in both countries.
“Côte d’Ivoire continues to stand out as a dynamic economy in West Africa, and we are committed to supporting the efforts of our business communities to expand trade, encourage investment, and strengthen supply chains in key sectors,” said Kendra Gaither, President of the U.S.-Africa Business Center.
The renewed agreement outlines areas of collaboration including support for small and medium-sized enterprises, joint business forums and trade missions, sharing of knowledge on regulatory best practices, and facilitating public-private dialogue to eliminate barriers to trade and investment.
“This renewed partnership marks a new chapter in our efforts to build stronger trade bridges between Ivorian and American businesses,” said Faman Touré, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire. According to him, through this collaboration, Côte d’Ivoire seeks to improve market access, strengthen value-added production, and create a lasting economic impact for its population.
This partnership supports the ongoing initiatives of the U.S.-Africa Business Center aimed at bolstering regional economic integration, including backing the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce signed their first Memorandum of Understanding in 2019. This renewal comes at a time when commercial momentum between the U.S. and Africa is gaining strength and reflects the partners’ desire to deepen their collaboration around shared objectives.
