Abidjan, August 17, 2026 – As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen economic ties between the United States and Côte d'Ivoire, the American Chamber of Commerce in Côte d’Ivoire (AmCham-CI) attended a high-level business lunch organized by the U.S. Embassy in Abidjan on Monday.

Held under the theme "U.S. Business Perspectives and Commercial Diplomacy," the event convened American corporate leaders, key institutional partners, and public stakeholders. The session featured special guest Ms. Sophia Lalani, Senior Professional Staff Member from the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Key Private Sector Engagement

AmCham-CI was represented by its Executive Director, Stéphane Hié Néa, alongside executive representatives from major American corporations operating in the region, including NTELX, Cargill, Mars, and Citi. The Center for the Promotion of Investment in Côte d'Ivoire (CEPICI) was also present to showcase local investment opportunities and ongoing regulatory enhancements.

Strengthening Investor Confidence

Discussions focused on leveraging commercial diplomacy to support American business operations abroad and identifying concrete strategies to boost investor confidence and long-term capital commitments in Côte d'Ivoire.

For AmCham-CI members, this direct channel of communication with the U.S. Embassy, CEPICI, and partner institutions serves as an essential platform to address critical operational priorities in Côte d'Ivoire and the broader West African region.
