The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) has approved a $150 million credit facility for Maripoma Enterprise Limited to finance eight road and bridge projects in Ghana, as part of an infrastructure portfolio estimated at about $1.2 billion.
The financing is expected to support the development of transport infrastructure aimed at improving connectivity, easing movement and strengthening economic activity in Ghana.
The eight projects form part of a broader infrastructure programme being implemented by Maripoma Enterprise Limited, with the total value of the projects estimated at around $1.2 billion.
The EBID financing represents a significant contribution to the programme and is expected to help mobilise additional resources for the construction and development of the transport infrastructure.
The projects are also intended to improve links between communities and economic centres, while supporting trade and regional connectivity.
The approval forms part of EBID’s broader strategy to increase financing for infrastructure and structural transformation across West Africa. The bank’s 2026-2030 strategy, known as Growth, Resilience and Optimisation (GRO), places infrastructure development, economic resilience and regional integration among its priorities.
For Ghana, the investment comes as the country continues to expand and modernise its transport infrastructure to support economic growth and improve connectivity.
The financing also highlights the role of regional development institutions in helping West African countries mobilise capital for large-scale infrastructure projects at a time when governments face significant financing needs.
The $150 million facility to Maripoma is therefore expected to serve as a financing lever for a much larger portfolio of road and bridge projects, with potential implications for Ghana’s transport network and broader economic integration.
