A new economic momentum is emerging between Côte d’Ivoire and Germany. On Monday, May 5, 2025, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire (CCI-CI) welcomed a German delegation as part of a partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Giessen-Friedberg. This collaboration aims to open concrete opportunities for trade and vocational training.
Presided over by the First Vice President of CCI-CI, Zoumana Coulibaly, the meeting was attended by the Ivorian Ambassador to Germany, H.E. Aziz Diabaté, and Dr. Matthias Leder, President of the IHK Giessen-Friedberg. As part of an economic tour that began on April 25, the mission helped explore synergies between the two countries.
The strategic partnership is structured around three key pillars: institutional twinning between the two chambers of commerce, support for dual vocational training with the Ivorian Ministry of Technical Education, and an invitation to the international conference "The World Meets in Giessen", scheduled for 2026.
Located in the state of Hesse, the IHK brings together 45,000 companies from key sectors such as the automotive industry, renewable energy, financial services, and logistics — areas that find fertile ground in Côte d’Ivoire thanks to its improving business climate.
According to Zoumana Coulibaly, this cooperation is a tool for boosting foreign direct investment. “It reflects the shared ambition to build strong and lasting economic ties,” he stated.
This partnership highlights the growing interest of German economic actors in the West African market and their confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s potential.
