U.S. Embassy Hosts FBI Training on Cryptocurrency Crime Investigations for Ivorian Partners

The United States Embassy in Côte d'Ivoire is proud to welcome a team from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to Abidjan for a specialized training session on the latest investigative and prosecution techniques related to the illegal use of cryptocurrencies.

This initiative is part of the ongoing collaboration between the United States and Côte d'Ivoire to strengthen capacities in the fight against financial crime, terrorism financing, and cyber-related threats.

Key Ivorian participants in this training include:

·        Investigators,

·        Magistrates,

·        Financial analysts from the Regional Committee for Counter-Terrorism Monitoring and Action (CROAT),

·        The Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DST),

·        The National Financial Intelligence Unit (CENTIF),

·        And the Economic and Financial Crimes Pole (PPEF).

By providing access to advanced methods of investigation and analysis, this training aims to equip Ivorian law enforcement and judicial authorities with the tools needed to better detect, trace, and prosecute crimes involving digital currencies, which are increasingly used in illicit activities worldwide.

This joint effort demonstrates the shared commitment of both nations to combat new forms of crime while promoting financial transparency and security.
