US-Côte d’Ivoire Health Collaboration Enters Five-Year Agreement

Deputy Chief of Mission Junaid Munir and Health Attaché Bibola Ngalamulume met with the Minister of Health and his team to discuss health cooperation between the United States and Côte d’Ivoire. This long-standing bilateral collaboration is entering a new phase with the implementation of the five-year Memorandum of Understanding, under which the United States will provide over 270 billion CFA francs, while Côte d’Ivoire will invest approximately 250 billion CFA francs to support the fight against HIV and malaria, strengthen global health security, and promote maternal and child health.
This cooperation supports Côte d’Ivoire’s leadership in managing and strengthening its own national health system. It also represents a shift beyond the traditional aid model toward an approach focused on autonomy and sustainable results for both the American and Ivorian people.
