Ivorian cyberactivist Ibrahim Zigui, who is close to the opposition, has been granted provisional release by the Ivorian justice system after spending ten months in detention.
The announcement was made on Monday, July 6, 2026, by his lawyer, Maître Ange Rodrigue Dadjé.
“The Abidjan Court of Appeal has just ordered the provisional release of young Ibrahim Zigui,” the lawyer wrote, expressing his gratitude to the Ivorian authorities and the justice system for their decision.
Ibrahim Zigui, a young cyberactivist known for his proximity to the Ivorian opposition, was arrested in September 2025 in Abidjan.
On May 18, 2026, he was sentenced to five years in prison and fined 20 million CFA francs for “incitement to insurrection” and “disturbing public
