Côte d’Ivoire: Former Prime Minister Patrick Achi Renounces French Citizenship

Former Prime Minister Patrick Jérôme Achi has officially renounced his French nationality. The decision was published in the Official Journal of the French Republic on August 12, 2025.

According to the announcement, Patrick Achi, born on November 17, 1955, in Paris, is now released from his allegiance to France.

This development comes less than three months before the Ivorian presidential elections, scheduled for October 25, 2025. While the reasons for his renunciation have not been disclosed, this move may signify a new phase in his political career.

Patrick Achi served as Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire from March 2021 to October 2023. Since January 2025, he has held the position of Minister of State and Special Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic.
