AFCON 2027: East Africa to Host the 36th Edition

The 36th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 (AFCON) is scheduled to take place from June 19 to July 18, 2027 in East Africa. The tournament will be co-hosted by three countries: Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

This marks the first time in the history of the competition that it will be jointly organized by three nations from the same region. The decision was approved by the Confederation of African Football, which aims to strengthen sports infrastructure and promote football development in East Africa.

The tournament will run over the course of a month, bringing together the continent’s top national teams. It continues the trend of recent expanded editions, with increased participation from African teams.

Although the dates of June 19 to July 18, 2027 have been announced, they remain subject to adjustment by the African football governing body.

Hosting AFCON 2027 represents a major sporting and economic opportunity for the three host countries, with expected investments in infrastructure and services related to the event.
