French forward Ange-Yoan Bonny has officially chosen to represent Côte d’Ivoire at international level. The 22-year-old Inter Milan player confirmed his commitment to the “Éléphants” during a ceremony held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Consulate General of Côte d’Ivoire in Milan.
In a warm and emotional atmosphere, Côte d’Ivoire’s Consul General in Milan, Ambassador Gauze André Philippe, welcomed the striker, now seen as one of the country’s most promising talents. “We are delighted and honoured that you are now at home in Côte d’Ivoire. All Ivorians are waiting for you. Thank you for honouring and responding to Côte d’Ivoire’s call,” the diplomat said.
Deeply moved, Ange-Yoan Bonny expressed his joy at joining the Ivorian national team. “I would like to thank you for the welcome, and I am happy to be here. I had promised to be here…,” he said before being symbolically handed an orange Côte d’Ivoire jersey by the Consul General.
Born on October 23, 2003, in Aubervilliers, France, to Ivorian parents, the 1.89m striker had previously represented France at U19, U20, and U21 levels before making his final choice for Côte d’Ivoire.
This season with Inter Milan, Bonny has played 44 matches in all competitions, scoring 7 goals and providing 7 assists.
