The equity market has reached a historic milestone, recording a +30% performance in the first half of the year. Among the 47 listed companies, 7 stocks achieved gains of more than +100%, while 19 shares increased by over +50%. Banking Sector Leads the Way

The banking sector continues to dominate the market. Among the 10 companies with the highest profits, 7 are from the banking sector, alongside two telecommunications companies.  A Promising Second Half Ahead

With more than FCFA 4,400 billion in profits already announced by listed companies for the first quarter, the second half of the year is expected to be just as dynamic, further strengthening the position of the BRVM as one of Africa’s most attractive stock exchanges.

As reminder The BRVM is the regional stock market for all eight member states in WAEMU (West African Economic and Monetary Union), including Benin, Burkino Faso, Guinea Bissau, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo. The BRVM market cap is US$ 8.7 billion and saw US$ 4.1 billion of debt instruments issued in 2018.
