Members of the Association of Ivorian Former Trainees of JICA (ASI-JICA) took part on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in a meeting dedicated to presenting projects of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The session provided a valuable platform for information sharing and experience exchange between JICA and the network of former trainees trained in Japan.
Following opening remarks by the President of ASI-JICA, Mr. Gaoude Thierry, and the new JICA Resident Representative, Mr. Kato Koichi, participants were briefed on key projects being implemented in Côte d’Ivoire, particularly in the infrastructure sector (three interchanges, a grain terminal), agriculture (rice farming mechanization), health (gyneco-obstetrics center at the CHU of Cocody), and capacity building.
These presentations helped participants better understand the objectives, progress status, and opportunities for contribution available to former trainees.
The Q&A session featured constructive discussions, highlighting the strategic role of former participants as a bridge between JICA, national institutions, and local communities.
The meeting concluded with prospects for strengthened cooperation, reflecting a shared commitment to maximizing the impact of development initiatives for the benefit of local populations.
