Strengthening resilience in northern Côte d’Ivoire

Ms. Djifa Ahado, Director of Development Programs for Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Benin, and Nigeria at Global Affairs Canada, is conducting a field visit this week in northern Côte d’Ivoire (Ferkessédougou, Kong, and Korhogo), accompanied by Cooperation Head Mr. Amadou Kane.

Within the framework of the Northern Resilience Programme, implemented with UNICEF, UNFPA, and UN Women, this mission provides an opportunity to engage with local authorities, partners, United Nations agencies, and beneficiary communities.

Discussions focus on initiatives aimed at strengthening the resilience of populations in a context marked by security, humanitarian, and social challenges.

Concrete results are being highlighted, including maternal and child health, protection and dignity of women and girls, social cohesion, and the strengthening of local services.

These achievements are made possible through a coordinated and integrated approach among partners.

Canada remains firmly committed alongside Côte d’Ivoire to supporting sustainable solutions, strengthening community resilience, and contributing to the stability of border areas.
