Technical and Vocational Education: 15 Senior Officials Return from Training and Capacity-Building Mission in South Korea

A group of 15 senior officials from the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education returned to Côte d’Ivoire on Saturday, August 23, 2025, after completing a two-week training and capacity-building mission in South Korea.

They were received at Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport by a delegation led by the Chief of Staff, N'Da Kadiatou Bouadou-Kouadio.

This mission is part of a strong and fruitful cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire. Speaking on behalf of the delegation, N’Da Kadiatou described the mission as rich in learning experiences.

“What we discovered in South Korea over the past two weeks was simply remarkable. First, we saw a people rooted in values and always dedicated to work,” she said.

She emphasized that the key takeaway from the mission was witnessing a community working together for collective well-being.

“Through this mission, we embraced values such as resilience, humility, dedication to work, and constructive patriotism aimed at community welfare and national progress. We have so much to learn from the Republic of Korea,” she added.

She further highlighted that the Korean government has based its national development strategy on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). In Korea, vocational training is viewed as a lifelong learning process, driven by innovation and technology.

“South Korea has 52 high schools equivalent to the Technical High School of Abidjan, dedicated specifically to research in innovation and technology. Alongside these, there are 38 polytechnic schools built across the country,” she explained.

It is also worth noting that two additional cohorts of 30 ministry officials are expected to travel to South Korea in 2026 and 2027 for similar missions.
