The Ivorian brand ALIWAX, specializing in luxury leather goods and accessories, has officially opened a showroom in Paris’s 8th arrondissement, near the iconic Champs-Élysées. This opening marks an important milestone in the international development of a company representing “made in Côte d’Ivoire.”
Founded in 2017 by Ivorian designer Alice Gnapa, ALIWAX initially gained recognition through online sales and local retail outlets in Côte d’Ivoire before gradually expanding regionally and then internationally.
The new Parisian space, located on rue de Berri, offers a selection of handbags, belts, wallets, and other accessories crafted in Côte d’Ivoire, combining local artisanal know-how with contemporary design.
According to the brand’s management, the Paris showroom aims to establish Ivorian leather craftsmanship on the international stage and provide European customers with direct access to ALIWAX collections. The company already operates several showrooms in Côte d’Ivoire and presents a variety of collections, including handbags, wallets, clutches, and accessories.
ALIWAX also emphasizes the training of artisans and the transmission of traditional techniques, key elements in its growth strategy. This approach highlights African creativity while meeting the standards of the luxury market.
Although the commercial impact of the Paris opening remains to be measured, the event is seen as a significant recognition for an African brand in a highly competitive environment dominated by established Western luxury houses.
For ALIWAX, establishing a presence in Paris is not an endpoint but a strategic step toward expanding to other international markets. By creating this showroom in France, the brand aims to increase visibility, attract new customers, and promote Ivorian craftsmanship within the global luxury sector.
