On a visit to the Polytechnic University of Man on February 19, 2025, as part of strengthening academic relations between Côte d'Ivoire and Canada, Anderson Blanc, Canada’s Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire, praised the achievements of this higher education institution.
Ambassador Anderson Blanc expressed his satisfaction with the quality of education provided at the university. "When I heard about the 80% success rate, I understood why this institution is called a university of excellence. Discipline, dedication, and sacrifice are the keys to success, and that’s exactly what I see here," he said.
Responding to students' questions, he spoke about scholarship opportunities offered by Canadian institutions. However, Anderson Blanc particularly emphasized the need for young people to contribute to the development of their country after their studies. "We want to prevent the brain drain. The goal is to train young people who will return to build Côte d'Ivoire and contribute to its industrialization," he affirmed.
To achieve this, he highlighted the possibility of creating joint training programs between Canadian universities and the University of Man. These partnerships would allow students to earn Canadian degrees without leaving Côte d'Ivoire, thanks to the mobility of teachers and academic programs.
The President of the University of Man, Professor Lacina Coulibaly, expressed his happiness with the new opportunities that will contribute to the university’s growing reputation. "This meeting confirms the vision of President Alassane Ouattara, who was right in creating a thematic university focused on mining and energy. We are convinced that this partnership will further enhance the employment rate of our graduates, which already exceeds 80%," he said.
