Côte d’Ivoire: Green Climate Fund establishes its Africa Regional Office
President Alassane Ouattara expressed his satisfaction following the decision to select Côte d’Ivoire as the host country for the Africa Regional Office of the Green Climate Fund.
In a statement, the head of state highlighted the strategic importance of this location, affirming that the country will "fully assume its role as the leading center for climate finance in West, Central, and North Africa."
This announcement represents a major milestone for Côte d’Ivoire, reinforcing its position as a regional hub for mobilizing funds dedicated to combating climate change and promoting sustainable development across the continent.
The Green Climate Fund, established to support developing countries in their transition to renewable energy and climate adaptation efforts, has thus chosen Abidjan as a central point to coordinate its activities in Africa.
