Côte d'Ivoire: 54.66M Mobile Subscribers, 29.17M Internet Users
Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé revealed on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan, that in Côte d'Ivoire, with a population of nearly 32.7 million, there are 54,663,819 mobile phone subscribers and 29,170,000 internet subscribers.
He shared these statistics during a double ceremony that he chaired, which included the official presentation of the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategies documents and the National Data Governance Strategy, as well as the official launch of the Project for Supporting the Strengthening of Electronic Administration (PARAE).
"There are already many achievements that are the result of the vision of our President in terms of artificial intelligence and all the related developments we are seeing. In the Ivorian landscape, as of today, we are close to 32.7 million inhabitants. We have 54,663,819 mobile phone subscribers and 29,170,000 internet subscribers," said Robert Beugré Mambé.
However, the Prime Minister noted the existence of between 529 and 559 "white zones" (areas not covered by mobile networks).
"In the framework of the National Rural Connectivity Program, we are addressing the issue of white zones with the help of mobile phone companies. By the end of the year, these 559 white zones will disappear and be replaced by covered areas. This means that Côte d'Ivoire is building strong infrastructure, improving, strengthening, and striving to be the leader in Africa in terms of artificial intelligence. We can achieve this," announced the Head of Government.
