Francophonie Days: The Québec Office, AUF, and CNF Train 25 Ivorian Women Artists in Digital Communication

Twenty-five (25) Ivorian women artists—musicians, dancers, singers, painters, visual artists, and more—took part in a training session on the use of digital tools this Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Québec Office in Abidjan-Plateau. This workshop aimed to strengthen their capacities in digital communication.

Co-organized by the Québec Office in Côte d'Ivoire, the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), and the National Commission of Francophonie (CNF), the workshop was held as part of the broader framework of the Francophonie Days. The main celebration of the event took place on March 20 at the Palais de la Culture in Abidjan.

The training aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to embrace the digital world and leverage digital tools to enhance their personal and professional lives.

Marie-Hélène Sultan, Head of the Québec Office in Abidjan, emphasized that it is essential for the vitality and dynamism of the French language that Francophone content becomes more available and visible online. She reaffirmed Québec’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship initiatives, particularly those that benefit women and youth.

To the Ivorian women artists, Marie-Hélène Sultan expressed her hope that this program would be a true source of inspiration. “May it provide you with new skills and knowledge to successfully carry out your future projects!” she stated.

Representing the Secretary General of the CNF, N’depo Kopoin Victorien assured the women artists that the workshop would offer both theoretical and practical knowledge crucial for advancing their artistic careers and fostering their empowerment in a world that is increasingly competitive, where only excellence matters.

He highlighted the relevance of the workshop’s theme in relation to the 2025 International Francophonie Day theme: “I educate myself, therefore I act,” celebrated from March 11 to April 3. He also stressed its alignment with the goals of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), particularly its focus on Women and Digital Technology.

The workshop took place in the presence of Professor Jocelyne Bosson, AUF Country Director for Côte d’Ivoire.
