On Sunday, October 19, 2025, Henriette Lagou Adjoua, the candidate of the Group of Political Partners for Peace (GP-PAIX), presented the main points of her social development plan, which she describes as a “development-centered centrist” program. Her vision places peace, social justice, and economic equity at the heart of her political agenda.
Speaking to an attentive audience, Ms. Lagou defended a participatory and inclusive governance model, highlighting the essential role of women, youth, and the diaspora in national development. She reaffirmed her ambition to build a reconciled and prosperous Côte d’Ivoire, founded on solidarity, transparency, and accountability.
Her development plan emphasizes the consolidation of lasting peace and sincere reconciliation, the promotion of a fair and competitive economy, the restoration of moral and civic values, and the recognition of the diaspora’s potential as a driver of innovation and investment.
On the economic front, the candidate proposes fairer wealth distribution, increased support for young entrepreneurs, farmers, and women, and backing for strategic sectors such as agriculture, craftsmanship, and renewable energy. She also called for strengthened local governance to reduce regional disparities and ensure balanced development across the country.
Ms. Lagou stressed the importance of restoring trust between citizens and government through transparent management of public resources and a strong fight against corruption. She believes that only ethical governance can rebuild the trust necessary for national stability.
Closing her speech, the GP-PAIX candidate made a call for civic responsibility and strategic voting, urging the people of Poro to mobilize for a new Côte d’Ivoire guided by peace, social justice, and fair governance. At 59 years old and running for the presidency for the second time after 2015, Henriette Lagou aims to make this election a moment of unity and national gathering.
The electoral campaign will conclude at midnight on Thursday, October 23, ahead of the vote scheduled for October 25, 2025, which political actors are calling to be conducted in a peaceful and democratic environment.
