Presidential Election 2025: Candidates’ Policy Agendas to Be Presented at a Café-Debate with the Ivorian Diaspora in Paris

The Ivorian diaspora in Paris (France) will host a “Café-Debate” this Sunday, October 19, 2025, bringing together representatives of the five candidates running in Côte d’Ivoire’s October 25 presidential election, according to a press release shared with AIP.

Organized by the Association Idée de Paix (ID2P), chaired by Gouza Nahounou, the event aims to be a pivotal moment to unpack and compare the policy visions that will shape the nation’s future.

Under the theme “Everyday Challenges and Tomorrow’s Choices,” the debate is expected to offer clarity on each candidate’s social and economic agenda. According to Mr. Gouza, each representative will be allotted a specific time to present their candidate’s key proposals before engaging in a Q&A session with both fellow panelists and the audience.

Unlike traditional campaign rallies, this interactive and dialogue-driven format seeks to encourage deeper reflection on pressing national issues that concern both Ivorians abroad and those at home.

The official campaign for the Ivorian presidential election began on October 10 and will end on October 23 at midnight. The five candidates in the race include Alassane Ouattara (RHDP), Simone Ehivet Gbagbo, Ahoua Don Mello, Jean-Louis Billon, and Henriette Lagou.

As the October 25, 2025 election approaches, the candidates’ policy proposals are expected to take center stage in shaping voters’ choices for the country’s future.
