Prime Minister Beugré Mambé Launches Construction Works for the Songon Departmental Blood Transfusion Center

Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Songon Departmental Blood Transfusion Center on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in Abadjin Kouté (Songon).

The future Songon Blood Transfusion Center will be responsible for collecting blood, preparing blood products, ensuring distribution to hospitals, and guaranteeing transfusion safety within its coverage area. It will also contribute to decentralizing the activities of the National Blood Transfusion Center and strengthening access to quality healthcare services at the community level.

The Head of Government praised the upcoming development of the Songon Blood Transfusion Center, describing it as “a major undertaking of great importance for the health of our population.”

He added that beyond this transfusion center, the government has plans to build additional health infrastructures, including the Songon Regional Hospital Center (CHR), which will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology to improve healthcare delivery.

Prime Minister Beugré Mambé encouraged residents to take full ownership of this new facility and turn it into a space of solidarity and community engagement.

“Let us all donate blood regularly to save many human lives,” he urged.

The future Songon Departmental Blood Transfusion Center will address the growing demand for blood units, reduce supply delays, improve transfusion care, and strengthen patient safety in Songon and surrounding areas such as Yopougon, Dabou, and Jacqueville.

The infrastructure is expected to be completed within a maximum of six months.
