African Heads of State Summit on Energy in Dar es Salaam: Government Reviews Côte d'Ivoire’s Participation

The Council of Ministers adopted, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan-Plateau, a communication regarding the African Heads of State Summit on Energy in Dar es Salaam, within the framework of the "Mission 300" initiative, as announced by the Minister of Communication and government spokesperson, Amadou Coulibaly, at the conclusion of the Council.

A high-level delegation led by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, he recalled, participated in the African Heads of State Summit on Energy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, held on January 27 and 28, 2025, focusing on the "Mission 300" initiative of the World Bank (WB) and the African Development Bank (AfDB), launched in April 2024, aimed at providing access to electricity for approximately 300 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa.

"On this occasion, 12 of the pilot countries, including Côte d'Ivoire, presented a national energy pact outlining the necessary reforms and actions for universal access to electricity by 2030 and an operationally and financially reliable energy sector," said Amadou Coulibaly.

The key commitments made by the government, according to him, include the rehabilitation and expansion of energy infrastructure at competitive costs, the adoption of Decentralized Renewable Energy Solutions (DRES), and encouraging private sector participation to unlock additional resources. "The implementation of these commitments will require the mobilization of 6.56 billion US dollars, or 3980 billion CFA francs, over the 2025-2030 period, with 1177 billion CFA francs from private investments."
