Since January 1, 2026, Cape Verde has suspended the visa on arrival for citizens of 96 countries. Travelers from these countries must now obtain a visa prior to departure from a Cape Verdean embassy or consulate, as the EASE portal no longer allows online payment for visas at arrival.

Americas: Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Dominica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela
Asia: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, North Korea, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kiribati, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Tuvalu

Travelers from these 96 countries must now secure their visa before traveling to Cape Verde. Failure to do so may result in denied entry, transit, or airport stopovers.
