Dangote Cement Signs $1 Billion Deal with Sinoma to Expand African Operations

Dangote Cement Plc, a subsidiary of Dangote Industries, has signed a strategic agreement worth over $1 billion with Chinese firm Sinoma International Engineering. The deal covers twelve industrial projects aimed at modernizing and expanding cement production capacities in several African countries, including Nigeria and Cameroon.

According to Dangote Cement officials, the partnership will involve the construction of new integrated production lines and the expansion of existing plants, as part of the company’s long-term growth strategy. This initiative aligns with the group’s vision to increase total annual production capacity to 80 million tonnes by 2030, while strengthening its market position across Africa and improving operational efficiency.

The expansion follows a strong 2025 performance, driven by the group’s pan-African segment. The projects reflect Dangote Cement’s commitment to meeting growing demand for cement across the continent, fueled by infrastructure development and urbanization.

The agreement with Sinoma also highlights the increasing role of international partnerships in African industrial development and the determination of local companies to expand their presence in continental and global markets.
