Ivorian Law Enforcement Officers Trained by FBI to Combat Cybercrime and Child Exploitation

Law enforcement officers from the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire have successfully completed an intensive training program led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), focused on cybercrime and combating child exploitation. The training took place at the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA Gaborone) in Botswana.

Funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), the program aimed to strengthen the operational and investigative capacity of Ivorian authorities to address growing threats related to online child exploitation, including sextortion, which is now considered the fastest-rising cyber threat in Côte d’Ivoire.

This initiative highlights the critical role of international cooperation in protecting children and enhancing justice systems in the digital age. By equipping law enforcement officers with advanced tools and techniques, the program supports Côte d’Ivoire’s broader efforts to build a safer, more resilient society.
