Resilience for Peace Launches ARRCo Project in Côte d’Ivoire’s Tchologo and Bounkani Regions

Resilience for Peace has officially launched the ARRCo project – “Amplifying Community Resilience to Conflict” in the Tchologo and Bounkani regions of northern Côte d’Ivoire, marking a new milestone in efforts to strengthen peace and social cohesion in vulnerable communities.

Implemented by Resilience for Peace under the broader PRORES program, the project is led by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). ARRCo is being rolled out in Ouangolodougou, Kong, Bouna, and Téhini, localities located in the Tchologo and Bounkani regions of Côte d’Ivoire.

The project aims to strengthen community resilience, reduce conflict risks, and promote social cohesion in areas facing growing fragility and security challenges. Through a community-based approach, ARRCo seeks to empower local actors to better anticipate, manage, and peacefully resolve tensions.

The first engagement meetings with community stakeholders, held at the end of 2025, marked a key milestone in the project’s implementation. These consultations brought together local leaders, community representatives, and partners to discuss community vulnerabilities, existing resilience mechanisms, and priority needs.

Resilience for Peace emphasized that this inclusive approach is rooted in local ownership, participatory dialogue, and practical solutions adapted to local realities.

The organization expressed its appreciation to GIZ, PRORES, as well as local partners and community leaders for their leadership and collaboration. The launch of ARRCo marks the beginning of a collective effort to transform vulnerability into resilience and contribute to a more peaceful future in northern Côte d’Ivoire.
