From April 7 to April 9, 2026, the Ambassador of the European Union, Irchad Ramiandrasoa Razaaly, carried out a working visit to the regions of Kabadougou, Folon, and Bagoué in northern Côte d’Ivoire. The mission is part of the EU’s ongoing efforts to strengthen security stability and socio-economic resilience in the region.
This field visit provided an opportunity to engage in dialogue with local authorities and partners on the main challenges and opportunities facing northern Côte d’Ivoire. It also included meetings with a livestock cooperative and women engaged in shea butter processing, highlighting efforts toward women’s economic empowerment.
The Ambassador’s program featured several key site visits, including the Tiéfinzo border police station, the agricultural processing company ECOCAJOU SA, a major actor in the cashew value chain, and the Boundiali solar power plant, a flagship renewable energy project.
The EU-supported Boundiali solar plant was highlighted as a major achievement, providing clean energy to thousands of households and serving as a concrete example of ongoing ecological transition in Côte d’Ivoire.
These initiatives are part of the European Union’s broader strategy to promote inclusive and sustainable development in Côte d’Ivoire, in close partnership with local stakeholders.
