In a recent statement, Ahoua Don Melo passionately shared his vision for a renewed Côte d’Ivoire and a united Africa. According to him, citizen participation is not limited to protests or demonstrations — it can and should also be expressed through democratic voting.
“I do not want a single-party state, and I came to express this openly. I do not want economic dependence, and I came to express this strongly. I want a united Africa, and I came to express this,” he declared.
For Ahoua Don Melo, transforming anger into votes is essential:
“I believe our duty is to show that anger can also be expressed at the ballot box, and that the sanction sought in the streets can also be realized through the ballot, provided that anger is transformed into votes to give a democratic outcome to this anger.”
He added that if this approach spreads among citizens, it could lead to the emergence of a new Côte d’Ivoire — more democratic, prosperous, and capable of contributing to a united Africa and a multipolar world.
Ahoua Don Melo’s message is clear: turn frustrations and expectations into concrete, responsible actions within the democratic framework, for the benefit of Ivorians and all of Africa.
