Abidjan, June 19, 2025 (AIP) – The founding president of the Army of the Net (ADN), Jean Yves Esso Essis, proclaimed on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in Abidjan, during the constitutive General Assembly, the creation of this unprecedented citizen movement, which supports the ideals of the Rally of Houphouëtists for Democracy and Peace (RHDP).
Under the theme “With ADN, let’s move to the era of commitment and real action for a stable Côte d'Ivoire under the leadership of President Ouattara,” Mr. Esso emphasized “the importance of digital mobilization in the face of growing misinformation on social networks.”
The new activist of the ruling political party denounced manipulations and digital incivility that threaten peace and democracy. “ADN aims to defend republican values, promote social cohesion, and educate young Ivorians on the importance of civic engagement online,” he stated.
The movement, which defines itself as an “army of ideas,” has the mission to defend the institutions of the Republic, explain public policies, and debunk false information. Mr. Esso also reminded that ADN clearly positions itself in support of the RHDP and its president, Alassane Ouattara.
“Modern communication tools and a network of local cells will be established to structure members’ engagement,” he said in the presence of the mayor of Issia, Fanny Karim, the communication advisor at the Ministry of Defense, Aristide Nkenda Nkenda, and the regional councilor of Cavally, Max Henri.
Jean Yves Esso called on every Ivorian to become an agent of change in cyberspace, affirming that “ADN is standing, ADN is moving forward” and that nothing will stop it.
For Mayor Fanny Karim, the language used on the internet has become dangerous and needs to be made more palatable. He invited young people to stay informed about current events. “Everyone must engage courteously on social networks to break any attempt to destabilize this country through these platforms,” he urged.
Mr. Max, for his part, exhorted the “digital soldiers” to be “present everywhere to defend the ideology of the RHDP,” considering that “ADN must be a strategic tool for the party.”
