Presidential Election 2025: Simone Ehivet Gbagbo Calls for a Vote of Conscience and National Reconciliation

Two days before the October 25, 2025 presidential election, Simone Ehivet Gbagbo, candidate of the MGC (Movement of Generations Capable), concluded her campaign in Krindjabo, in the commune of Aboisso, with a speech urging Ivorians to act with civic responsibility.

Before an enthusiastic crowd, she called on citizens to vote in peace, dignity, and freedom of conscience.

“On October 25, each of us will hold in our hands a peaceful and powerful weapon: the ballot paper,” she declared. “Do not let anyone buy your conscience. This country belongs to all its children — not to one clan, not to one party, not to one man.”

With a unifying tone, the candidate placed national reconciliation at the heart of her political vision. According to her, Côte d’Ivoire can only move forward by facing the wounds of the past with truth and courage.

“Forgiveness is not forgetfulness; it is an act of courage to build the future,” she said, extending a hand “to all Ivorians, wherever they come from, to write together a new page of our history.”

She emphasized that justice and equality before the law are the foundations of a strong and respected state.

“Reconciliation cannot be built without justice or mutual respect,” she added, urging institutions to guarantee impartiality and peace before, during, and after the vote.

On the economic front, Simone Ehivet Gbagbo called for a structural transformation of the Ivorian model, arguing that the country must move beyond dependence on raw materials to invest in local production and human capital.

“The wealth of Côte d’Ivoire lies not only in its cocoa or oil but in the dignity and creativity of its people,” she insisted, calling for greater inclusion of youth and women in national development.

She also denounced the concentration of wealth in the hands of a few and pledged to implement inclusive policies that allow every citizen to live with dignity from the fruits of their labor.

On the subject of leadership, the MGC candidate highlighted the need for moral integrity and ethical governance.

“Leadership is not about ruling, it’s about serving,” she stated, stressing that the strength of a president lies in their ability to unite, listen, and bring peace.

Simone Ehivet Gbagbo called for a renewal of the political class and the restoration of trust between leaders and citizens.

“Power must once again become an instrument of public service, not a personal privilege,” she affirmed.

In closing, she invited Ivorians to a national awakening. Her message—solemn yet fraternal—resonated as a call for peace and hope.

“Together, we can rebuild trust, restore dignity to work, and secure a better future for our children. On October 25, let us vote for conscience, unity, and peace.” 🇨🇮
